THREAD LIFT
One common concern with the skin’s ageing process is that it can begin to sag in visible areas, such as on the surface of the face. Therefore, having a thread lift is more suitable for our older cosmetic training models.
A thread lift is the procedure of having portions of the skin stitched, to provide a visible facial ‘lift’ without having to surgically remove any excess skin. This lifting and tightening process also stimulates the body’s healing response, encouraging collagen growth within the targeted areas. The collagen not only heals but strengthens our skin’s condition. As our bodies age, we tend to produce a reduced amount of collagen, which thins the skin to an average of 80% reduction by age 70. A thread lift can restimulate this collagen, resulting in gradual improvement of skin tone and firmness.
The procedure takes around 45 minutes, and can be performed under local anaesthesia. No need to worry about cancelling plans, as patients are typically able to return to normal activities immediately after. Results can last between 4 months and 3 years depending on the type of procedure that you choose and how well the procedure interacts with your body.
As a model, you will receive one of the two main types of threads that are approved for the purpose of lifting facial tissue, most thread lift products are made from biocompatible materials, have a similar process and deliver excellent results. However, there are some key differences between products and procedures, which can be discussed with your medical practitioner during your initial consultation to make sure that you’re getting the best treatment that works for you.
